Picked this restaurant because our first choice was closed. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Really good food and service. Waitress even smiled! We have a new eatery on our top 10 in San Francisco!
Freakin awesome dim sum! You won't be disappointed.
Truly awful service. We were seated when they opened at 5:30pm and a waiter didn't come by our table for 30 minutes! Other tables were getting their main entrees before we ordered. We ordered dim sum, and it was mediocre. It wasn't anything special at all. We ordered 10 different plates, and the time between the first and the last plate being delivered was 90 minutes! It was crazy. One of the worst restaurant services I have ever experienced. Asking our waitress for more tea was like pulling teeth. I wouldn't recommend anyone come here.
Food was tasty and came out fast. Nothing too expensive and fairly good quality as far as I could tell. Be prepared to wait for a table during brunch rush, worth the wait.
Hands down best Dim Sum in the city. I highly recommend going closer to when they open then later in the day if you don’t want to wait forever to get a table. But even if you do wait, it is well worth the wait. The service is quick and attentive and the food is very good. I recommend trying every type of pork bun they have, they are delicious. They recently added a fun new menu where you can see pictures of everything and then you Mark it to order it. Makes it simple for those who may not know exactly what the menu is referring to if you’ve never had dim sum. Also I recommend you go with at LEAST two other people. The more the merrier (meaning the more dishes you can try and eat).
Great Dim Sum
Tasty food, very reasonable price. But the service is a bit below average. We were left waiting for more than 15min before they seated us and they forgot to serve us an item we ordered.
The dim sums are nice, but service is really bad. Be prepared to eat some nice food, but expect to have prolonged delays when you ask for somethingFood:The dumplings we got were delicious, and the buns were fresh and tasty (though presentation could be better). The pastry tart looked gorgeous, but was prettier than it tasted. Egg rolls were okay.Service:Not up to the mark at all. First, they got everything out at once, and were in a rush to clear the table constantly. Had to ask for water and the check, multiple times, where once I literally got up to go get someone else to help us, since our server didn’t seem quite interested. Ambience:Decent place, with different sections. Chill, casual Asian food place.
Hong Kong style restaurant. Serving dim sum in morning and noon. Full course meal in afternoon and evening. Expect to wait for ten twenty minutes during weekends and holidays. Food quality are middle to high for my taste. A lot regular will come here.
Dumplings were tasty. We had the Shanghai dumplings, pork buns, mushroom and shrimp.
I loved the desert and food.
This is a very nice restaurant on Geary. They serve hot tea as soon as you are seated. Their dumplings are yummy. I especially loved the deep fried shrimp ones. I also enjoy their fried rice, but the taste varies wildly. Sometimes it’s divine and sometimes it’s too dry. I recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings as well. Their food presentation deserves a special mention. The service is quick and very good. They have a lot of seating, so wait times are not long, even on weekends when the restaurant is full of Chinese people. Here is a fine dining experience that isn’t too hard on your pocket, so go for it.
Same long line but the food has became mediocre recently. There is always long waiting line outside the restaurant on weekends. We were are group of 13 and waited for almost 40 minutes. But that's Ok as long as the food is good. However, my recent visit in April was disappointing. The food seems losing its flavor. They are good for filling hungry stomachs but not as tasty to palate as they used to be.
Get there fast! This place has a long wait time during lunch rush but well worth the wait. Delicious!
Good experience here but we had higher expectations with some of the dishes. Coffee-crusted spare ribs were recommended but were extremely chewy and fatty. String beans were great as were the shumai dumplings. Atmosphere was great. 40-45 minute wait on MLK day at noon.
Best dim sum in San Francisco!! Seriously. Everything was fresh and super tasty. Majority of the patrons are Chinese which in itself tells you about the authenticity of the food. The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the poor service. Wait staff was generally curt and rude.
I was really craving some dim sum. I decided to order about 11-14 dishes from here to go. Everything was packed neatly and nicely. I loved the pig custard buns, super super cute. My favorite item was the durian swans. They were the prettiest thing on the menu and I just HAD to have it. Even with all of the items in all of their boxes, none of my stuff got squished. They tied the bag well and my food survived a 30 minute car ride. I am definitely ordering to go again when I am craving some good dim sum. I will be first in line when they reopen for indoor dining again.
Very slow! They r not working! They r sleeping!!! If you don’t want to waste ur time, don’t visit this restaurant!
Food was good. Although it worked for us that they forgot to prepare the noodle we ordered, it is not a good practice. Lunch time is a busy time, because we are a group of 7,we had to wait for several minutes to be seated. My favorite was the custard tartlet-like dessert. The quality of the crust seemed perfect. We couldn't counter check if what they put in our bill is exactly what we ordered because the receipt was written in Chinese characters.
Food ok, service is not too good, reasonable price
Very nice restaurant for dim sum lunch and dinner 😜
It's just all right. Had better dim sum at other places in the City.
Consistency is a good thing, when I want decent Chinese food. Is it the best..No. Is it the worst...No. It's your "same old" middle of the road neighborhood Chinese banquet/dim-sum place, with its usual slippery floors and menu items. It's good enough for days when I want something more than a hole-in-wall. It's a place where I feel comfortable taking a friend, without being pretentious and spending top-$. Sometimes I'm surprised by a new menu item and other times a bit disappointed by service. But over the years, I'm glad it's there.
Please do not support restaurants that serve shark fin. There are other dim sum options within walking distance.
Quality of food was subpar. FYI Chives Dumpling has shrimp even though there’s no label. When we asked they rudely said “Yes, there’s shrimp in it.” I asked why the other items explicitly say shrimp and this one does not. She rudely shrugged her shoulders and said there’s shrimp in it. Very poor customer service.
Food variety were good. Onion white ginger chicken however, were too tough, with tiny bone pieces scattered, hard for some to consume safely.
Good balance of price, service, and quality for Dim Sum in the city. Do expect a wait for larger parties (>4) on the weekend.
Food was good, 4.5 solid stars. -1 star for the world's most slippery bathroom floor. Seriously--like ice skating. Suuuuper-dangerous. Otherwise, a fun, delicious, experience. Do have the har gow, the bunny har gow (no bunnies, I promise), shrimp rice noodles, shu mai, pork potstickers, baked BBQ pork buns, coffee ribs, and shrimp egg rolls. All were superb. The xaiolongbao were decent.
I dined here for a banquet, which consisted of about 50 attendees (split among 5 tables). Given the size of our party, we made a reservation well in advance and we're given the back room for our party. Each table had a family package that feeds 10, which included dishes like fish maw and crab meat soup, Peiking duck, and braised noodles just to name a few. We finished off the night with mango pudding that was shaped like a large koi (my personal favorite and highlight of the night).Overall, I enjoyed the food and the service was . Since I was there for a banquet, I was able to work away with a lot of good memories from this dining experience!
The cha sui bao was ON POINT. Seriously order a dozen and call it a day. The dumplings were decent.
Probably is the best Dim Sum place in the city, no wonder they are so busy on weekdays and weekends, prepare for a waiting line, it's crazy long. But I will say it's worth! All of the steam buns are really good, and the dishes are great too. You can try all of them safely.
Thankfully we arrived a bit early for dim sum and already the place was pretty crowded. We both enjoyed everything we ordered. It was all delicious. The food was freshly made and of good quality. Highly recommended.
Always love this place, been going for years. Delicious. Easy menu w pictures. Huge Variety of dumplings. (Can go w vegetarians, those who done eat pork, those allergic to shrimp and find food). Incredible reasonable priced (just went with a group or 3 and group of 4 friends and split for lots of food was ~$25-32 each). Usually a line on weekends after 11am. (Go early or line, which is well done - large place).
It has been 2 years since the last time I was here. It’s no longer what I remembered. Wonder if the owner was changed. The food was OK, service was no longer good. The whole experience was not enjoyable. I’ve been to better places.
Good Chinese food for dinner. Average prices for the area. Street parking available. Very busy on the weekends.
Unfortunately, wasn’t the best Dim Sun experience. Had high hopes with Ali Wong hyping it up but was disappointed. Food tasted bland, green beans and watercress missing flavor and everything needed salt. Better options in the city.
Terrible service. Rude wait staff. Subpar food quality. Felt sick afterward. Will not return.
Top contenders for the best dim sum in SF. I used to go to Lai Hong lounge a lot but after trying this place it, I might have a new favorite
Great place for a big group. While I usually enjoy picking food off the cart, this place has laminated menu with pictures to show what you are getting. Food was delicious and hot. Loved almost everything we ordered and service was attentive. While it was crowded, we were seated pretty fast on Sunday morning. They were very good about getting the tables ready for the next groups but they never rushed anyone. Egg custard was my fav!
The food here is delicious. Though service has much to be desired. There is usually a long line, so I recommend coming early to get a ticket. Listen closely to the numbers though because the staff will skip numbers often and seat guests that arrived later. Staff in general isn't very attendant and the food is not delivered in the order you would expect, often with multiple dishes arriving at one time that can lead to some items getting cold.
It's still in the regular circuit for in-laws' family banquets, but really because of inertia more than anything else. Tasty foods, borderline deplorable service, doesn't feel all that clean.
A favorite restaurant of a dear friend who is a local of San Francisco took me to dinner here. While dishes like the bunny shaped dumplings, clams, and oysters were amazing... others like the pork belly were a bit disappointing as it was dry. And the duck was tough with mostly bone. Overall it was a nice visit but knocking down to 4 stars but still worth visiting!
Popular tasty dim sum place that makes hunting for parking and waiting in line worthwhile.
A favorite spot for dim sum in SF! Never disappoints, food is consistently good and the place is clean. So busy on weekends, prepare to wait for a table and build up an appetite.
Attentive service, delicious food, good portions, authentic cuisine, gorgeous decor. We couldn't have been more satisfied!
Great foods & perfect place for large group/family to have dim sum, lunch, or dinner here. Waiting time ranges from 30 minutes to an hour if come after 12:00 & 6:00 PM. Customer service depends on staffs mood. Parking may be difficult. Reasonable price & good selection of dim sum variety.
Absolutely delicious Chinese cuisine. I will bring nations to their knees for the honey shrimp here, it was that good. The half Peking duck was crispy and when paired with hoisin sauce was an explosion of flavor. The dining area itself was very clean but the restrooms were kinda dirty. Staff was competent as well.
We went there for breakfast. Their food is quiet good and price is very reasonal. We ordered several dim sum. The bbq pork rice flour roll is very good! I like the service they provided -they responded to me and solved the problem in appropriate way. Recommended!
Food 5 star but service is a minus one star...I wish they smile more.
